Roma attacker Paulo Dybala gave the Giallorossi an early lead over Real Betis. Eventually, the Spaniard managed to overcome the one goal difference, winning the game with a late minute headed effort.
The Argentine was interviewed by Sky Sport after the final whistle and asked to analyze the result, he said “We knew they’re a good team, and we knew they’re very good in possession.”
“We didn’t do a good job of pressing the opponent the way Mourinho had asked us to.”
“I rewatched Bravo’s save a thousand times. I kept thinking about it afterwards. He did very well.”
“I think there were situations we should have handled better, and played with more possession. We should have tried to build more from the back. It happens, we’ll work on it.”
Dybala also spoke about his experience at Roma thus far, and working with Jose Mourinho.
“I felt welcomed from the first day I came here. I worked hard in preseason which I hadn’t done in a long time. This helped me get better and gave me the continuity that is necessary in order to do what the coach asks of me.”
“Mourinho? We talk all the time, we confront each other very often.”
