Paulo Dybala to be rested against Brighton

Andy Mattioli

Paulo Dybala will make the trip to England as Roma prepare to face Brighton in the highly anticipated return leg of the Europa League Round of 16.

After an initial, short-lived injury scare in Florence versus Fiorentina on Sunday, Dybala is deemed fully available for Thursday’s fixture.

However, Daniele De Rossi is unlikely to risk playing him from the start – the Italian technician is aware of Dybala’s injury track record and will make considerations for his use ahead of the weekend match with Sassuolo in Serie A.

In the meantime, Corriere della Sera reports that Dybala is projected to start on the bench versus Brighton, with someone like Tommaso Baldanzi possibly replacing him in Roma’s starting line-up.
