Paulo Dybala is set to remain in the Italian capital for the duration of the upcoming international break.
After experiencing pain and discomfort in his right hip abductor muscle on Saturday night with Hellas Verona, Dybala is likely to be rested against Milan.
The Argentine attacker did not participate in any of this week’s training sessions as Roma prefer to use caution at the start of this new season.
According to Il Tempo, Dybala has already decided he will not be travelling to Argentina to play with the national team.
The player will communicate this decision tomorrow to the Argentine federation.
Mourinho hopes to have him fully recovered for the first match after the break with Empoli on 17 September.
