Paulo Dybala continues being linked with a last minute exit from Roma only a few days away from kick-off to the 24/25 season.
In recent days, the rumor mill produced a series of reports suggesting Roma may be open to Dybala’s departure and could consider offers from Saudi Arabia after all.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the rumored interest from Saudi is real: Al-Qadsiah have presented an offer which the club and player are yet to respond to.
In the meantime, the newspaper reports that yesterday, Dybala’s agent, Carlos Novel, landed in Italy and met with Roma management members Florent Ghisolfi and Lina Souloukou.
The three met at Hotel de Russie and had dinner together. Eventually they were also joined by two emissaries from Al-Qadsiah.
The meeting demonstrates that Roma has by no means closed the doors to the sale of the team’s most decisive talent, even a few days before the start of the championship, after having encountered difficulties in placing other elements of the dressing room.
But the versions differ quite a bit on the figures. And on the responsibility of the choice there is a clear narrative distance between the club and the player. The dinner in a five-star hotel, which continued until after midnight, will have served to clarify their respective positions.
This is the position that filters through from Roma: it is Dybala who aims to obtain a huge contract from the Arabs and then bring a concrete offer to Trigoria.
On the other hand, Dybala assures that he has no intention of leaving Roma for the Saudi League. If he had opted for the huge Arab money, he would have accepted the offers that came to him when the release clause (expired in July) was still valid. He would have gone away – if ever – if a great European team decided to bet on him had called him.
