Former Fiorentina and Salernitana manager Paulo Sousa previewed tonight’s Europa League quarterfinal showdown between Milan and Roma at San Siro.
The 53 year-old believes the Rossoneri possess an advantage in overall quality, notably on the left flank thanks to the presence of left back Theo Hernandez and attacker Rafael Leao.
“I’m curious to see the strategy of the two sides,” Sousa told Sky Sport.
“Milan has more quality overall particularly in attack—they express this very well on the left flank thanks to the tandem of Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao.”
“However, [Paulo] Dybala also operates in that area, and his only issue is that his intensity drops as the minutes pass.”
Adding, “We also need to give a ton of credit to Stefano [Pioli]. He’s enhanced the qualities of his players by changing how the team played and switching to a system that best allows them to express themselves.”
