Cagliari attacker Leonardo Pavoletti complained about the refereeing display in his team’s 2-1 loss this evening to Roma.

The veteran striker voiced his displeasure after he was called for a foul on an episode he believed should’ve been ruled a penalty in his team’s favor.

Despite his complaint, though, Pavoletti claims that wasn’t the reason they lost tonight.

“The defender threw himself into me yet I’m the one who got called for the foul,” Pavoletti said to DAZN.

“We didn’t lose because of this episode, but it still hurts, it’s a mockery. It’s unbelievable.”

He continued, “I had a chance at the near post to make it 2-0. I’d say nine out of ten times it’d be a goal, but I came across a very strong goalkeeper, so I give my compliments to him.”

“It’s a shame because we were missing so many players and were in an emergency, but we played perfectly. We had some episodes go against us. The defeat hurts but we did a lot of things well.”
