Pedro looking to move from the capital: Qatar and MLS an option

Not being called up to group training by José Mourinho can only mean one thing: the player does not fit the manager’s plans. This is the case for Pedro – the Spaniard after only one season with Roma is looking for a new team to join.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma want to get rid of the player in order to reduce the club’s wage bill. The Spanish winger’s performances over the last year were not enough to back up a €4.2 million gross salary for a soon-to-be 34-year-old.

Mourinho’s decision made it clear to Pedro’s agent that he must start looking for a new destination for his client. However, not many teams have come forward so far.

The player has drawn slight interest from La Liga: Valencia, Betis and Real Sociedad have asked for further information regarding a possible deal. A more concrete option are the likes of Qatar and MLS as the Spaniard does not plan on reducing his salary for the upcoming season. For now, Pedro will continue training individually along with the other ‘rejects’ including Kluivert, Nzonzi, Coric, Fazio, Pastore, Santon and Bianda.
