Ex-Roma attacker Pedro – currently serving Lazio under Maurizio Sarri – is in talks to renew his contract with the Biancocelesti.
The Spanish winger is reportedly in advanced talks to extend his stay with Lazio, but a new contract will only be signed once the season comes to an end.
The reason for this – reveals today’s edition of il Messaggero – is that Pedro would be obliged to pay Roma around €1 million out of his own pocket if he were to renew his contract with Lazio before the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
The player wants to avoid this and will thus wait until the end of the season and sign a new contract with Lazio as a free agent.
