Lorenzo Pellegrini made a moving gesture in what proved to be an eventful night for the Roma captain.
The midfielder was back on Roma’s scoresheet as the Giallorossi lifted their heads in a must-win match against Frosinone on Sunday night.
As revealed by Corriere dello Sport, Pellegrini – who scored Roma’s second and final goal of the night – paid tribute to his maternal grandmother who had passed away a few hours prior to kick-off.
Despite this family tragedy, Pellegrini insisted on playing and never put his availability in doubt.
After the goal, the Italian midfielder pointed to the sky.
