After their stunning victory at Bergamo, Roma got immediately back to work ahead of the final midweek fixture vs Sampdoria before the Christmas break.
According to Il Tempo, Karsdorp and Veretout exited the Atalanta match with scratches and knocks. However, both players have given their availability for the Samp fixture.
More importantly, El Shaarawy and Lorenzo Pellegrini have made considerable progress in their recovery.
El Shaarawy’s condition will be assessed by the club’s medical staff ahead of the Samp game, but both players are looking at a probable return date after January 1st, for Roma’s Milan showdown.
In the meantime, Leonardo Spinazzola is expected to undergo one last consultation with his surgeon at the start of the new year. If given the green light, the Italian wing-back will begin group training.
