Pellegrini likely to come off the bench vs Inter

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini

Jose Mourinho does not want to risk Lorenzo Pellegrini in his long-awaited return from injury, reports Il Tempo.

The Roma captain’s condition was assessed by the club’s medical staff before the team’s departure to Milan. Mourinho is unlikely to risk the 25-year-old from the start.

According to the newspaper, Pellegrini is likely to come off the bench against Simonze Inzaghi’s team tonight, with Sergio Oliveira starting alongside Jordan Veretout in the midfield and Henrikh Mkhitaryan slotting in behind Tammy Abraham and Nicolo Zaniolo.

Matías Viña will replace Ainsley Maitland-Niles on the left flank, with Karsdorp taking over on the right.
