Roma will enter the final stretch of games leading up to the World Cup break in bad shape given the current status of the capital club’s injury list which keeps growing in size.

As reported in today’s edition of Il Messaggero, Jose Mourinho may have to face Helsinki in this week’s midweek Europa League fixture without his team captain. Lorenzo Pellegrini, in fact, pulled another muscle in last night’s defeat to Napoli and was forced to leave the pitch with a painful flexor.

Additionally, Nemanja Matic was not fit enough to play more than 10-15 minutes, as stated by Mourinho himself in his post-match interview.

Rick Karsdorp is also dealing a swelling in his knee caused by his recent meniscus surgery. The Dutchman braved through the painful knee to replace Nicola Zalewski who was unavailable ahead of last night’s match.
