The second meeting that went down at Trigoria yesterday between General Manager Tiago Pinto and Lorenzo Pellegrini’s agent, Giampiero Pocetta, served to establish a foundation for more in-depth discussions regarding the economic aspects of the 24-year-old’s long-awaited renewal.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Pinto and Pocetta discussed Pellegrini’s role as a leader of the team and one of the key players for Mourinho going forward.
With Dzeko’s imminent departure to Inter Milan, Pellegrini’s leadership has grown considerably in the eyes of Roma’s front office. His new contract will cement his importance to the Roman club.
The Italian newspaper reports that the player’s new contract will run until 2026 and the salary figures will most likely range between €3 and €4 million per season.
Moreover, the meeting also helped further clarify the future of two Primavera players: Zalewski and Ciervo. The former has a concrete chance of staying with the first team for the upcoming campaign. Meanwhile, Ciervo has received loan offers from Serie B including Parma and Frosinone.
