Pellegrini not called-up for Samp, Pastore to start

Javier Pastore is poised to make his first start for Roma this season.

Corriere dello Sport reports that the Argentine will replace Lorenzo Pellegrini in Paulo Fonseca’s starting formation today against Sampdoria. Pastore has made only two appearances for the Giallorossi this season following his recovery from hip surgery.

Pellegrini was not called-up and did not travel with his teammates to Genova for this evening’s league affair against Sampdoria. His wife, Veronica, is set to give birth at any moment to the couple’s second son.

Pastore’s most recent start came last season on 24 June, also against Sampdoria.
