Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini was alongside manager Paulo Fonseca today as the pair previewed tomorrow’s Europa League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Italian claimed that his side’s awareness has increased after their elimination in the Europa League last season against Sevilla.
“We’ve been working together with our manager and with this group of players for almost two years now,” began Pellegrini.
“Of course our awareness has grown since we were knocked out last season against Sevilla. We need to give all of our attention to Shakhtar. They’re a strong team that arrives in this competition from the Champions League.”
He continued, “We will play our football and exploit our strengths. My only concern is to always improve what I do on the pitch. Results will follow as long as you continue to work to improve.”
Pellegrini is expected to start in attack with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Borja Mayoral against the Ukrainians tomorrow evening.
