Pellegrini re-aggravates ankle injury, may not start against Atalanta

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini may not be able to start in tomorrow’s match against Atalanta.

Sky Sport reports that the midfielder has re-aggravated the ankle injury that he suffered after a brutal studs-up tackle from Sassuolo midfielder Pedro Obiang almost two weeks ago.

Pellegrini featured in the Giallorossi’s last two league matches, both of which were wins — however, the injury has been causing him discomfort and manager Paulo Fonseca could decide to hold him out of his starting formation.

Should Pellegrini be unable to feature, Gonzalo Villar is expected to start alongside Jordan Veretout in the midfield with Pedro and Henrikh Mkhitaryan behind Edin Dzeko in attack.
