Lorenzo Pellegrini helped Roma get the 3 points in a must-win mid-week fixture against Mazzarri’s Cagliari side.

The Roma captain spoke to DAZN following the final whistle:

“These 3 points are as valuable as any. It didn’t look too good for us for a while, despite the fact that in the first half we always had the ball, we played our game, and in my opinion did excellent things.”

“In the second half we put more intensity and it showed. It was very important to win today.”

On the group as a whole:

“The results will speak for us. What I can say for sure today is that this is not a group but a family, which every day aims to improve and today we have seen it.”

“Today is a bit of the answer to all the bad things that have been said this week and we have tried to roll up our sleeves and get busy.”

“From my point of view we had an excellent match against Napoli and today we took the three points which was what we had to do.”

On the free-kick goal:

“I am still a bit in debt because everyone tells me that I don’t know how to shoot free-kicks. I continue to train and improve, which is what the whole team does.”
