Lorenzo Pellegrini sat out last night’s match to rest. The Roma captain is still suffering from an inflammation to the knee that forced him to forfeit the national team call-up earlier in the month.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Pellegrini’s status for Sunday’s game vs Torino is yet to be determined.
Last night, Mourinho said when asked about why the captain wasn’t on the pitch against Zorya, “Pellegrini is injured, I repeat, Pellegrini is injured.”
If the inflammation and swelling in his knee will not alleviate in the coming days, the 25-year-old may also sit out Sunday’s fixture. Mourinho and his staff do not want to risk him at this point in the season.
