Lorenzo Pellegrini’s contract is expiring, and Roma is considering a renewal.

Gian Piero Gasperini wants the squad to stay: “The team is strong, it needs to be strengthened,” is his diktat. But the club must still keep an eye on its finances.

As anticipated by SiamoLaRoma.it in recent days, while there’s renewed interest in Dybala’s contract extension, there’s still no word on Pellegrini. The club must now evaluate how to make the Grugliasco-born coach happy.

Gasperini has made it clear to the relevant authorities that he wants Pellegrini’s contract renewed, but the club has not yet scheduled any meetings with his agents.

It’s possible, at this point, that the situation will be addressed one way or the other only at the end of the season.

Pellegrini has scored seven goals and four assists in 33 appearances this season, a significant improvement over his abysmal season last season. The attacking midfielder, alongside De Rossi, Ranieri, and Juric, had only three goals and two assists in 34 appearances.
