Pellegrini to miss out on Coppa Italia match vs Lecce

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini

Lorenzo Pellegrini suffered a last minute injury in last night’s pre-game training. The captain had to walk off the pitch and was subsequently replaced by Jordan Veretout alongside Sergio Oliveira.

According to Corriere della Sera, the club’s medical staff will decide whether to run further tests on the 25-year-old as Pellegrini continues to feel discomfort in his quadriceps, which he injured earlier in November against Torino.

Therefore, it is probable that Mourinho will not risk him in Roma’s midweek Coppa Italia fixture vs Lecce. Pellegrini’s condition will be monitored day-by-day.
