Roma capped their preseason with a win in their final summer friendly in Israel before they officially begin their 2022/23 campaign.
The Giallorossi defeated Antonio Conte’s side 1-0 thanks to a headed goal from Roger Ibañez, who hammered home a perfect corner kick delivery from new man Paulo Dybala.
Overall the capital club put in a good performance particularly in defence, the Londoners failing to register a single shot on goal.
Despite a night full of positives, two of Roma’s notable players suffered injuries in the affair. Wide-man Nicola Zalewski was forced off in the 60th minute after what appeared to be a sprained ankle.
The youngster didn’t appear to have problems walking on his right foot but the team’s medical staff didn’t want to take any chances.
Meanwhile, captain Lorenzo Pellegrini required multiple stitches after suffering an elbow just above his eye in the final seconds of the fixture.
