After the disappointing result away at Venezia, Roma are entering the international break with 13 players getting called up by their respective national teams.
Among these players are Nicolo Zaniolo and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, despite featuring in yesterday’s match for the full ninty minutes, Pellegrini is still not at 100%.
The Roma captain still suffers from inflammation in his left knee. The club’s medical staff have reportedly discussed his condition with the national team and the player’s status will be monitored day-by-day.
In case the inflammation persists, Pellegrini will leave Coverciano and return to the capital.
Zaniolo, on the other hand, has suffered minor muscle fatigue. The 22-year-old, who came on in the final minutes of the match vs Venezia, feels pain and discomfort in his calf and knee muscles.
The player will most likely undergo a series of tests later today that will reveal the severity of the injury as Roma do not want to take any chances.
Both players will be closely monitored by the club and national team’s staff.
