Roma attacker Carles Pérez was interviewed by Sky Sport and discussed the restarting of the Serie A next month. Here’s what the Spaniard had to say:
Was it your hope that the season would resume?
Both my teammates and I couldn’t wait to start again. We are happy that a date has been set, 20th June. We’re all happy to be resuming and I believe everyone else is happy, too — especially those wanting football to return.
You came here from a big club like Barcelona. What reasons did you come to Rome for?
The motivations are always the same: to improve and to learn every day. I come from Spanish football, which is a little different from Italian football. So I am trying to learn the style of play of my new team and, above all, to learn from my teammates more experienced.
Can Roma return to the Champions League next season?
I have no doubt about it — we are all determined to start again strong and we’re convinced that we can reach our goal of fourth place.
You are young, just 22 years-old. But do you already feel you could stay in Rome for a long time?
I hope so. I have been very well received, I feel good and I have received a lot of affection from the fans. I hope to stay here for a long time, to score many goals and make many assists. But in the end, the results and the victories belong to the team.
