Adding to Nainggolan, Strootman, and Fazio, Diego Perotti is nearing a contract renewal. The attacker, whose contract expires in 2019, will, reportedly, soon sign a new contract that will see him remain at Trigoria until 2021, according to Corriere dello Sport. Perotti’s new contract will not contain a release clause and he will receive a wage increase from €1.9 million to €2.1 million (net) per season excluding bonuses.

On the eve of the match against Atleti, Perotti was asked about his contract status at the pre-match press conference as sporting director, Monchi, looked on and even smiled as he said: ”Staying at this club for a long time would be the crown for my footballing revival. Both my family and I live very well in Rome and we intend to stay.”
