Roma attacker Diego Perotti was interviewed by ESPN and discussed a variety of topics. These are his words:

“I have always said that I will not finish my career at Roma, but if I were to leave without winning anything, it would be a bigger disappointment than the World Cup. We are strong and we know what we want and we have the chance to win. It would be great to raise a trophy in Rome”.

The American tour?
We were tired from all the flying we had to do, but we understand how the preseason is nowadays. Fortunately, we played a good match against Barcelona and we are preparing for what we will have to face during the season. It will be a long and difficult season with the Champions League and what we are doing now will be essential to have the right strength during the season.

Not being called for the World Cup?
It was one of the biggest disappointments of my career. The first days were really difficult, I didn’t even watch the matches. Things were not well organised, and they paid for their disorganisation. There was a lot of confusion and the players suffered from it. Everything was done in a hurry in order to win the World Cup, everything must be organised in the best possible way. The disappointment was strong, but now the season starts again and I want to do well to try and be there for the Copa America next year.
