RomaPress – Diego Perotti’s move to Fenerbahçe is at serious risk of collapsing, which would block the return of Stephan El Shaarawy to Roma.
Perotti flew to Istanbul on Saturday to undergo his medical examinations with the Turkish side and to finalise his move to the club.
With the Argentine looking like a certainty to leave along with Justin Kluivert, who is joining RB Leipzig, Roma quickly found an agreement for a loan deal involving former Giallorossi and current Shanghai Shenhua attacker Stephan El Shaarawy.
However, a serious contractual dispute has arisen within the last two hours between Diego Perotti and Fenerbahçe. The Turkish side want to lower the amount of compensation the player would earn in the second season of his contract — a proposal both he and his agent have rejected.
Should Perotti’s move to Istanbul fall through, then Roma are unlikely to bring another attacker before the transfer window closes due to the Argentine’s significant wages of €5.3 million (gross) per season.
