Petrachi apologizes for post-match comments

Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi released a statement today following his comments after yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Cagliari.

The Lecce-born director found enveloped in controversy after many stated his comments after yesterday’s match were sexist.

“I’m sorry if anyone was offended by the words I used,” he said to Roma’s official website.

“It wasn’t my intention to suggest that football is only a man’s game and not for young ladies. Football is for everyone and at AS Roma, we’re proud of our women’s team & our role in promoting women’s football”.
