After just one season, Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is increasingly likely to depart the club this summer.
Corriere dello Sport has reported that the former Torino director will likely depart from the capital club following the summer transfer window due to a variety of issues.
The first is that many of the players – especially the veteran ones – have not taken kindly to Petrachi’s fiery approach and methods. Next, Champions League qualification was the first and foremost objective of the team: should Roma not finish in the top four, Petrachi will have failed to fulfill the club’s primary goal.
Had the global COVID-19 pandemic not erupted, it’s reported that Petrachi would have already left the club. Nonetheless, a divorce between Petrachi and Roma is becoming more and more likely this summer.
