Petrachi nearing Roma, set to resign at Toro

John Solano

Gianluca Petrachi to Roma is getting closer to becoming official, reports Il Messaggero. Last week, the current Torino sporting director, who has already been lending a hand with matters at Roma, met with Granata president Urbano Cairo. During their talk, Petrachi informed the Torino number one of his desire to free himself in order to take the next step on his career despite having a contract until 2021. During the meeting, Petrachi did not mention Roma by name, but Cairo did understand the situation and has been studying the clauses within Petrachi’s contract to find a solution as he does not intend on holding him back. In the coming days, the first official step will take place: Petrachi will present his letter of resignation. After Roma-Parma, the current interim sporting director of the Giallorossi, Ricky Massara, will step down and has two opportunities waiting for him: Brescia or re-joining with Sabatini in Bologna.
