RomaPress – Roma are looking for a reinforcement in defence as Kostas Manolas nears Napoli. One of the names that the Giallorossi are interested in is 22 year-old Brazilian defender Lyanco. The class of 1997 player is owned by Torino and impressed during the past six months while on loan at Bologna, drawing interest throughout Italy. Within the past week, Roma and Torino made progress on freeing Gianluca Petrachi and allowing him to join the capital club. During these talks for compensation for Petrachi, both he and the Giallorossi inquired about the availability of Lyanco, however, they were met with a clear “no”. While the agent of Lyanco confirmed that the player is likely to remain with the Granata, Roma believe they will have a better chance of landing the player by potentially “relaunching” for him in July. Torino, meanwhile, are ready to hand the Brazilian an important role in Walter Mazzarri’s three-man defence after Emiliano Moretti’s retirement. Lyanco, however, has taken note of Roma’s interest and could push for a move if the Giallorossi continue to insist.
