Sassuolo striker Andrea Pinamonti secured his side a late point this evening versus Roma thanks to a late goal in the 85th minute.
The former Genoa man narrowly beat Chris Smalling to Armand Laurienté’s cross into the area and fired the ball into the top of Rui Patricio’s goal, earning the Neroverdi a point following two consecutive losses.
“It’s been awhile since I scored but I’ve stayed humble and continued to work, always believing that a goal would come sooner or later,” said Pinamonti during his post match interview on DAZN.
“I’d say this goal was deserved simply due to all the criticism and insults I’ve received, it’s incredibly satisfying.”
“This draw is a good response from the team after the match against Empoli. We played one of our worst games of the season in Tuscany but three days later we’ve responded well.”
Adding, “We’re very happy we recovered a point after being down by a goal in a very tough game.”
