Roma’s Tiago Pinto discusses returns of Veretout, Zaniolo, and Spinazzola

AS Roma executive Tiago Pinto

Roma general manager Tiago Pinto discussed the state of the team as it enters the final stretch of the 2021/2022 campaign.

For the first time this season, Roma will not be missing any of their key players due to injury with defender Leonardo Spinazzola officially returning from a ruptured Achilles. The Italian international was called up for tonight’s league fixture against Salernitana and is expected to receive a brief cameo at some point in the second half.

“The most important thing is that Zaniolo, Veretout, and Spinazzola are back. Obviously the latter is in a much different condition, though,” Pinto told DAZN.

“But we’re happy because now everyone is available for us, which is great because everyone in the team will be key from now until the end of the season.”

“Whether it’s today or in the next games, I’m certain Zaniolo will be important for the team and our objectives.”

Even though tonight’s fixture is against bottom of the table Salernitana, the Stadio Olimpico will be packed with over 64,000 in attendance.

“I’m blown away by the level of support. It gives us a sense of pride because the supporters are coming because we’re on the right path,” he added.

“The only way to thank them is by winning this game. The drive to win here is what drives us all mad.”
