General Manager Tiago Pinto was asked to speak to DAZN before kick-off to Roma-Inter.

The Portuguese director spoke of Mournho’s importance for the team in moments of difficulty and The Special One’s comments about the need to protect Zaniolo.

“For us it is a joy to have Mourinho every day, we know about his experience and every day in Trigoria we understand why we appointed him in the first place.”

“We have faith in him but he wasn’t only appointed to play big games.”

“We have always remained close as a group, it is clear that after Bologna we also had to regroup to cope with absences, but with responsibility and serenity like the work we do every day.”

On Zaniolo’s reputation among referees:

“I don’t know Italian well but in the last few weeks I have been attentive to what people say and Nicolò is spoken of as a great hope for Italian football. That’s why we must protect and respect him.”

“He can’t continue to suffer fouls without them being called, he has incredible potential and I think both Roma and Italian football don’t want him to go away.”
