Milan manager Stefano Pioli sounded confident in his media appearance ahead of the highly anticipated return leg of the Europa League quarterfinals with Roma.
In his post-match interview with DAZN in the aftermath of the 3-3 draw with Sassuolo, the Rossoneri technician said, “We have to play a great game on Thursday, but we don’t have to do something extraordinary.”
“If we just play the way we know how, we will have the chance to beat Roma. Roma played an excellent match in Milan, but that was their peak. We, however, played below our level.”
“If we play at our level, it will be a very balanced match, in which episodes can have an impact, we will have to put in more quality and determination than in the first leg. Our future will depend on our performances, we are in the decisive period of the season.”
