While the tension between Gasperini and Ranieri continues in the Trigoria offices, the team continues its work on the pitch, awaiting another crucial match in the race for Europe.

Atalanta arrives at the Olimpico on Saturday, looking to bounce back after their home defeat to Juventus.

This is a crucial Champions League match, and they’ll need everything they have. Or at least everyone available. Starting with Mancini.

After missing the second half against Inter and the Pisa game due to injury, the defender is ready to return to the field alongside Ndicka and Hermoso.

The Spaniard hasn’t trained in the last two days. Simple management is needed to avoid overworking him, with his return to the group scheduled for today.

It’s also a crucial day for Wesley to determine whether the Brazilian will be eligible for Saturday’s match. The full-back continues to train separately, also monitored by a Brazil national team doctor, but, as Il Tempo reports, it seems unlikely he’ll recover in time.

He’s more likely to return for the trip to Bologna. Finally, Pisilli’s condition will need to be assessed, as he suffered a knock in training on Monday.

The problem isn’t serious, but he will almost certainly be out for the Atalanta match.

With Koné also missing, who risks missing the Bologna match as well, Gasperini will inevitably have to rely on Cristante and El Aynaoui in midfield.
