Ex-Roma and current Juve midfielder Miralem Pjanic spoke in today’a edition of La Repubblica about his passage from the capital to Turin, here are his words:
“Roma? They made promises and I always kept my word with them by signing contract extensions. They (Roma) continually insisted they would build a competitive team for Serie A, but we won nothing in five years. I am 26 years of age, a career doesn’t last forever and Juventus had been tracking me for years. I talked about a move there with Spalletti, Totti and De Rossi. Francesco told me he was upset and that he preferred me to stay, but he understood I had to take the path I wanted. I love Roma and the city, but it was time to go.”
“When I became aware that Juventus wanted me, I said ‘yes’ straight away. It was the same when I moved to Roma when Luis Enrique and Sabatini wanted to show me how much they believed in me.”
