Players recovering from injury back to training at Trigoria

With Mourinho landing in Rome in the coming days, more and more players have began to assemble at Trigoria to get ready for the start of pre-season. After appointing his staff, Mourinho and Pinto requested for players recovering from injury to be present at Roma’s training grounds. According to Il Tempo, with Zaniolo, El Shaarawy and Fuzato already there, the following players arrived knocking on Trigoria’s doors earlier today: Calafiori, Darboe, Diawara, Ibanez, Kumbulla, Reynolds, Smalling and Veretout.

Pau Lopez was also present as he is trying to recover from shoulder surgery and get back to his best form before possibly leaving to Marseille on loan with option to buy (15mln). So far, the training sessions are overseen by Stefano Rapetti, Roma’s latest appointed fitness coach.

With Mourinho’s imminent arrival, we’re likely to see others join soon: Joao Sacramento, The Special One’s assistant, is scheduled to arrive later this week, along with Carlos Lalin, head of fitness, and Nuno Santos, who’s replacing Marco Savorani as Roma’s new goalkeeper coach. Thus, we’re starting to see a new Roma take shape.
