Roma are continuing their search for a new sporting director as a potential candidate – current Fiorentina and former Giallorossi sporting director Daniele Pradè – has been ruled out for the job.
Pradè has extended his contract with La Viola until 2021, which essentially rules out a potential reunion in the Italian capital.
The 53 year-old spent over a decade with the Giallorossi after having been brought to the club by Fabio Capello in 2000.
Following his departure in 2011, Pradè was appointed as the new sporting director at Fiorentina in 2012 before departing in October 2016 for Sampdoria. He also had a very brief spell at Udinese before returning to Florence to work under new president Rocco Commisso, who acquired La Viola last summer.
