The English Premier League has voiced its support for referee Anthony Taylor after the events in the aftermath of Roma-Sevilla.

Following the recent circulation of videos showing Roma supporters harassing Taylor at Budapest airport, the Premier League decided to release a statement backing the English official.

“We are shocked and appalled by the unacceptable insults directed at Anthony Taylor and his family on the return journey from the UEFA Europa League final.”

“No one should suffer this unforgivable behaviour that they had to undergo yesterday. Anthony is one of our most experienced and accomplished referees and we fully support him and his family.”
