Roma were hoping to close the operation today for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling – however, Sky Sport reports that the negotiations have stalled between the two clubs.
Today’s meeting with the intermediary Jozo Palac, which was done in an attempt to unlock the deal, did not conclude positively.
There’s now pessimism within the walls of Roma that an agreement will be reached before Monday’s transfer window deadline.
The parties will continue to negotiate for the 30 year-old defender, but these latest issues within the negotiation have raised doubts as to whether or not Smalling will ultimately return to the Italian capital.
