Rafa Benitez claims Roma are “forced” to fight for Serie A title

Former Liverpool and Napoli manager Rafa Benitez was asked about Roma’s transfer window and consequently the club’s objectives for the upcoming season.

“Dybala and Wijnaldum are both great players,” Benitez told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “They’re very dynamic, with lots of quality.”

“They come in to complete a team that is already well-equipped, raising the overall level of the roster,” he added.

“I think we must add Roma to the Scudetto race,” Benitez continued. “They have to be in it because of the players they signed and because of Mourinho’s history.”

“I think now they’re forced, in the best way possible, to fight for the ultimate victory.”
