Monza boss Raffaele Palladino conceded there’s a lot bitterness following their late 1-0 defeat to Roma in the Italian capital.
The Biancorossi appeared headed for another clean sheet before Stephan El Shaarawy popped-up and scored at the death to earn the hosts a victory.
“Obviously this game leaves a bad taste in our mouths,” Palladino told DAZN.
“We played great and demonstrated we’re a team with great technical and personality traits. The team gave all they had even being down a man for more than 50 minutes. Let’s remember, we created scoring opportunities in the second half even though they had an advantage.”
He added, “There’s a bitter taste in our mouths due to the result, but I’m leaving today with the glass half-full. This was a test of maturity and certainly it’s a game we’ll grow from, I’m proud of these guys.”
