Ralf Rangnick: “I’m not in talks with Roma.”

Roma are still in search for a sporting director following the departure of Gianluca Petrachi in June and one of the names that has been most heavily linked with the vacant role is former RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick.

The 62 year-old is currently available after having departed his role at Red Bull earlier this summer – however, Rangnick denied today during an interview that he is in talks to join the Giallorossi.

“I’m not negotiating with Roma,” the German confirmed to Spanish outlet El Pais.

“I think that I’ve shown during the last 14 years throughout my time at Hoffenheim and Leipzig that I’m at my best when I’m given the chance to develop a club and not being strictly a coach.”

He continued, “My intention is to work in a traditional club in either England or Germany. However, I could see myself working as just a coach in a very ambitious club and immediately competing for a title.”
