Ralf Rangnick was interviewed today by Sky Sport Germany and was asked about the rumors linking him to a role at Schalke 04, who officially sacked manager David Wagner today.
“Schalke? I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested,” said the German.
”I’ve been out of a job for 8 weeks and this is a club (Schalke) that I’m still tied to”.
“At this moment, it seems difficult that I’d make a comeback, but I learned that it makes no sense to say the word ‘never’ in football”.
Rangnick was previously close to accepting a role at Milan before the Rossoneri ultimately opted to break off talks with the 62 year-old.
Roma have also had discussions with Rangnick but they have major doubts that he would be able to fit in with the new structure that they have in mind for the club.
