Former Roma boss Claudio Ranieri appeared on Radio Uno this morning to discuss his former club following their victory over Lecce. These are his words:
What are the strengths and weaknesses of this Roma?
It seems to me that Fonseca is doing a good job, he is making himself understood by the players. To me, he seems very intelligent and realised some of the problems this team had. It appears that his philosophy is starting to creep into their play — they cover the depth of the pitch better. From what I read in the newspaper, the players seem to be happy so it looks like it was a positive decision.
A tip to Fonseca, what would you tell him?
To take his path — he is working well. It is logical that the Roma fans will take you to the stars when you win, but I think even they understand that this year they are refreshing many things. There is a good mix of young and experienced players, I am sure that Roma will have a great campaign.
Is it easier than you return to managing in Italy or abroad?
Since I went to Valencia, I have always felt like a European manager — the most important thing is finding a good project.
