Now former Roma manager Claudio Ranieri was interviewed today by Sky Sport. These are his words:

What is your perception of the Giallorossi’s future?
I think a lot depends on the stadium and the chances of it being built. It’s logical that the club wants to do things the right way, also because financial fair play requires it. The stadium could bring more income. The club is working well for it but obviously the fans want to see results on the pitch. The important thing right now is to find a manager, sporting director . The important thing now is to find a coach, sports director.

Can Roma only fight for fourth place or can they go further?
I hope they can fight for fourth place. But nothing is set in stone, just look what I did with Leicester — I wish the best for Roma.

Any advice to Totti?
No, with Francesco we talked for a long time, he knows how I feel about him — I send him my best.

How much influence does Francesco have at Roma?
He has a lot of impact — Totti was the one who chose me when there were those at the club who wanted Paulo Sousa. I hope he can continue to have an affect at Roma.

Any advice to De Rossi?
We spoke, he wants to continue playing. I hope he finds the right club.

What about the La Repubblica article?
It seemed like an ad-hoc article written by those who wanted to create chaos.

Your future?
I’m waiting for a good project, whether it’s in Italy or abroad. The important thing is that there are solid foundations on which to build. I’m a man of the pitch — my future is on the bench (not as a director).
