Cagliari manager Claudio Ranieri refused to focus on the negatives after his side were dismantled 4-1 by Roma this evening.
The Sardinians were hammered by Jose Mourinho’s men, suffering their sixth defeat of the season as they remain bottom of the Serie A table with just two points.
“Initially we began the match well but then we conceded two goals back to back,” Ranieri told DAZN at full-time.
“They (Roma) have an engine that never stops running so tonight was tough. In these first eight rounds we’ve had to face five of the strongest teams, so now’s the time for us to have our season.”
“We’re bottom of the table right now but we’re united and we’ll do everything to stay up. We need everyone to give something extra, myself included. I said it before the season: we have to stick together at all times.”
“It’s clear we’re in the middle of a storm but the crew is united and the supporters are with us too. These next two games against Salernitana and Frosinone are important for us. Obviously I hope we don’t see the gap like we did against the big teams.”
