RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann was interviewed by SportBild and was asked about the future of Patrik Schick.
The Czech attacker is at the German side on loan from Roma and has done well since arriving last summer. Leipzig possess a €29 million option to make the attacker’s move permanent, but there is a wide belief that the Giallorossi will be forced to accept a lower fee in order to get the operation over the line.
“I think we’ll be able to finish in a Champions League place, but even if we do, I don’t think we can permanently redeem Schick and Angelino,” said Nagelsmann.
“We cannot waste our resources. We have a very strict plan and a budget that must be respected. Also, if we don’t sell players and make outgoing transactions, it’s unlikely we can make any new purchases”.
