RB Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund discussed tonight’s Europa League showdown versus Roma.

The Austrians enter the affair with a 1-0 aggregate leads thanks to their late win in last week’s first leg in the 88th minute.

“Roma is a team with great players and a great manager. For us, facing them is an important opportunity,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Let’s see what happens.”

Freund was also asked about his club’s approach to team building. Only two players in Salzburg’s first team are over 25 years-old.

It’s a far cry compared to squads in Serie A, where 18 of 20 clubs have an average age over 25.

“You can’t say one philosophy is right and the other wrong,” admitted Freund. “Each club is different.”

“What I can say is that we’re very satisfied with our approach, it’s very fulfilling. So we’ll continue down this same path.”
