Ready for takeoff: Nicolo Zaniolo cleared to return following torn ACL

Nicolo Zaniolo has been given the green light to make his return to the pitch.

The Italian posted the good news on social media after he flew to Austria to visit with his surgeon, Prof. Christian Fink, for a follow-up examination.

“Let’s get start again!” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m very happy, thank you so much, everyone!”

Not long thereafter he wrote a follow-up post stating, “If they ask me one day, I’ll reply that life is beautiful because despite the tears, the tough moments, the pain, and the agony – you always get the chance to start fresh.”

It’s been a long road to recovery for the youngster following the injury in September, but with the entire summer ahead of him to prepare – incoming manager José Mourinho will be welcomed to the Italian capital with a fully fit Zaniolo.
